Isaac: Heads up! Looks like Danik has had time to regroup.

• 上を見ろ！Danikには再編成する余裕があったみたいだな。

Carver: Dammit! How do we find Rosetta if she's been dead for 200 years?

• あの野郎！しかし200年前に死んでるRosettaをどうやって見つける？

Ellie: Wait a minute. There - "Rosetta Lab"! It's here!

• ちょっと待って。あれは――”Rosetta研究所”！ここだわ！

Isaac: Perfect! Send me the coordinates. And let's hope Danik doesn't find us before we can build this Codex.

• 最高だ！こっちに座標を送ってくれ。俺たちがCodexを作る前にDanikに見つからないことを祈ろう。

Announce: Initiating decontamination. Please hold still.

• 除染を開始します。そのまましばらくお待ち下さい。

Isaac: Wow, so this is Rosetta's lab, huh?

• へぇ、ここがRossettaの研究所とやらか？

Ellie: Oh, finally. And this is an assembly station, according to the controls.

• ええ、ようやく辿りついたわ。そして制御装置によれば、これはアセンブリ・ステーションらしいの。

Isaac: So, we're here to assemble a Codex. That makes sense.

• そうか、じゃあ俺達はCodexをここで組み立てるわけだ。なるほどね。

Ellie: Uhh... No... according to this, we're here to... assemble Rosetta. They cut her into pieces?! Oh my god.

• んー…違う…これによると私たちはここで...Rosettaを組み立てられる。彼らは、彼女をバラバラに切り刻んだですって？！なんてこと。

Carver: Fuck this day!

• 散々な日だな！

Isaac: They sliced her up?! Why?

• 彼女を切り刻んだだと？！何故？

Ellie: I don't know. But some of the pieces are already in the assembly. I think I see another piece over there.

• 分からない。でもいくつかの欠片はもうアセンブリ内にあるわね。そこにもうひとつあったのも見たわ。

Carver: What the hell do we do with it?

• それで俺たちはこいつをどうすりゃいいんだ？

Ellie: Well, there should be a receptacle that feeds into the lab's cataloging system. - yep, over there.

• 研究所の分類システムにデータを入力するための容器があるはず。―はい、ここね。

Isaac: Okay, let me see if I can feed it in.

• オーケー、じゃあ入れられるどうか試してみる。

Ellie: Great! Okay, I'll see if I can route that to the assembly station, hold on.

• よし！いい、アセンブリ・ステーションに送ってみる、ちょっと待ってて。

Ellie: So... According to the records, there are four more pieces. They were checked out of storage by Dr. Serrano. Well there are three buildings in the facility. So if there are more pieces, they're elther in one... or all of them.

• うーん…記録によると、後四つ欠片があるとされてるわ。その欠片はSerrano博士によってストレージから出されたみたい。さて、施設内には三つの建物がある。他の欠片がもっとあるとしたら、そのどれかか…もしくは三つ全部に。

Isaac: Most of the doors were locked down from what I could see.

• 俺が見た時ほとんどのドアは閉鎖されてたぞ。

Ellie: Yeah! Well, you're in luck. Look what I found. A security pass. You wanna give it a shot?

• あら！あなたは運がいいわね、さっき見つけたの。セキュリティパスをね。欲しい？

Isaac: Hey why not...

• それを早く言ってくれ。

Isaac: Great... thanks. Find out waht you can about how assembling Rosetta will create a Codex. I'll explore the labs and recover the rest of the Rosetta slabs.

• よし…助かった。君はRosettaを集めた後にどうやってCodexを作るか探して出しておいてくれ。俺は研究室を調べて、残りのRosettaの板を元に戻す。

Ellie: It looks like there are three primary buildings in this facility. The one we're in now is Biology. There's one for Paleontology and one for geological studies.

• 施設内には主に三つ建物があるわね。一つが私たちがいる生物学棟(Biology)。残りの二つが古生物学棟(Paleontology)と地質学棟(geology)。

Isaac: Which one should I check out first?

• どこから調べたらいいんだ？

Ellie: Doesn't matter. Just be careful.

• お好きな方からどうぞ。気をつけてね。

Isaac: Why, you think there's something out there that wants to eat me?

• 俺が外に出た途端食われてもいいのか？

Ellie: That's not funny.

• 面白くない冗談ね。

Isaac: I know. Isaac out.

• だろうな。通信終了。

Isaac: Ugh, there's nasty growth everywhere in here. It's blocking some of the doorways.

• あー、そこら中気持ち悪いものに侵食されてる。そいつのせいでいくつかのドアが入れなくなってる。

Ellie: Is it organic? It says here there's a sterilization system that can destroy organic matter in case of a containment breach.

• それ、有機物？ここには閉鎖障害が発生した場合、有機物を破壊する殺菌システムがあると出てるわ。

Isaac: I'll check it out.

• 調べてみる。

Announce: Initiating sterilization sequence.

Dr. Earl Serrano, status update. I now realize why the alien Machine was rejecting our Codex. The instructions were being garbled by the second set of DNA - the aberration. We found a new specimen today - a pure and intact specimen. Its DNA is completely pristine and I have high hopes that this is the breakthrough we were looking for!

• Dr.Earl Serrano、状況更新。エイリアンのMachineが何故我々のCodexを拒絶していたか今になって理解出来た。指定されたDNAが第二セットまで欠けていた――これが異常だったのだ。私たちは今日、新たな個体を発見した――純粋で無傷の個体だ。そのDNAは完璧に本来の形を保っている、これが私たちの求めていた突破口となる可能性は高い！

Isaac: I found another piece of Rosetta! I'm sending it your way.

Ellie: Which, uh, which piece is it?

• どれ、ええっとつまり、どの部位？

Isaac: Hard to tell from the cross section but it doesn't look like anything I recognize.

• 断面から見分けるのは難しいが、俺が知ってる人体のどの部位にも見えないのは分かる。

Ellie: Okay, I'll get it prepped when it arrives.

• いいわ、それが届くまでには準備しておく。

古生物学棟(Paleontology)侵入

Danik: Testing. Testing. Hello, Isaac. I know you're out there... crawling around. You probably think I'm an overzealous crusader, that I'm mindlessly following the whim of an angry god. It's an easy conclusion to draw and I don't fault you for it. But you may be surprised to know that I'm a man of science, a man of fact and reason, cause and effect. And soon, you'll understand that I'm right... about everything.

Dr. Earl Serrano, status update. It is well known that the surface of all Markers contain glyphs. No one is entirely sure what they mean, but they exist as a distinct language we attribute to the Marker's creators. However, our deep dig teams are reporting the discovery of another set of glyphs - a new set - found on the structures we've uncovered below the planet's icy crust. I've ordered several artifacts sent up for closer inspection. If this is what I think it is, it could change everything.

Danik: A little trivia, Isaac, to put things in perspective. Fact: The original Marker, the Black Marker found on Earth, predates the rise of mankind. Are you listening to this? Fact: The Marker exerts a field of influence that guides and grows biological organisms, evolving them over time towards some greater purpose. Do you see where this is going?

古生物学棟(Paleontology)通信記録 : Piece: Gills

Dr. Earl Serrano, status update. It appears that all the specimens share some common features that are quite surprising: gills! Along with what I presume are swim bladders and collapsible fins. This is quite improbable for a frozen wasteland...unless, it was not always frozen. I now believe this planet was once a vast liquid ocean, and that a single, sudden event caused a flash freeze, trapping everything in the ice.

Isaac: Ah crap! Danik's gunships are patrolling the area!

Ellie: Oh god! Don't let them see you!

Danik: Fact, Isaac: As you can personally attest, man is naturally compelled to create Red Markers, duplicates made in the image of the original. They are as much a part of us as the planet that birthed us, perhaps even more so. We must all act our part in the natural evolution of the Universe, Isaac - something you seem reluctant to accept.

Isaac: Okay, that's the last one.

Ellie: Great, are you headed back now?

• やったわね、すぐ戻ってこられる？

Isaac: Yep, be there soon.

Danik: Give up, Isaac! You're not getting out of there alive!

• 諦めろ、Isaac！お前は生きてここから出られない！

Isaac: Oh would you shut up, Danik!?

• いいから黙ってくれるか、Danik！？

集め終わった後帰り道

Isaac: Ellie, how do we know this is even going to work? Did you find out how they make a Codex from all this?

• Ellie、こいつで上手くいくなんてどうしてわかる？こんなものからどうやってCodexを作っていたか分かったか？

Ellie: Yeah, it looks like they used magnetomic forensic neurology, which produces a data stream stored in the codex. It's like they lifted the codes for the machine right out of her brain.

• ええ、どうやらCodexにデータの転送を行える科学捜査用神経磁気測定を使っていたようね。彼女の脳からMachineのためのコードを引き出していた、というか。

Isaac: Well that sounds familiar. At least they didn't poke her eye out. I'll be there soon.

• ああ、それはなんとも馴染み深い話だな。少なくとも連中は目玉をつついたりはしなかったわけだ。すぐにそっちに着く。

Danik: Isaac, one final fact for you to ponder, <chuckle>, as you recklessly pursue your own destruction: Were it not for the tampering of Earth Gov... or these long-dead　researchers... or you... humanity would have painlessly transcended to our ultimate end, our predestined rebirth. Now... what purpose does all this conversation hope to serve? Well, the next time we see each other... and I shoot you in the face... <chuckle>... you will understand why.
